How do I pay my rent?
You may set up automatic withdrawal for your rent, but also have the option to pay by check (there is an additional processing fee) by mailing or dropping it off at your respective office. *Processing Fee waived if rent paid semester at a time
You may also pay your rent in larger increments. If you pay the full year in advance you will receive a 3% discount. There is no discount offered for any other lump sum payment.
When is rent due?
If you take advantage of our automatic withdrawal system, rent will be deducted from the account of your choice on the 3rd of the each month. If the 3rd falls on a weekend or holiday rent is withdrawn on the next business day. If paying by check or money order, rent is due on the first and late after the 3rd. Late fees are $10/day every day after the 3rd.
How do I receive large packages?
Each apartment has a mailbox on property where mail is delivered. There are also parcel boxes within the mailbox bank that can hold packages too large to fit in the smaller box. If you receive a package in one of these boxes a parcel box key will be left in your apartments mailbox.
If you receive a package from a carrier service that is not USPS such as FedEx or UPS, they will typically deliver the package to your door. If you do not want the package left at your door we suggest that you require a signature upon delivery.
The leasing office will not accept any packages or mail for residents.
Where do I catch the bus?

Do you offer parking?
Yes, we offer multiple parking options. Contact your leasing agent for more information.
Do you have security?
Providing a safe living environment is our priority at Brookside and as a part of that we employ Signal 88 courtesy officers who are on call for Brookside residents 24/7. Want someone to walk you from your car to your front door after dark? Have neighbors that are being a little loud on a week night? Signal 88 is there to assist!
What is included in the furniture package?
Bedroom: queen bed, headboard, nightstand dresser
Living room: couch, love seat, coffee table, end tables, bar stools
Kitchen: some kitchens have dining tables and chairs others have upgraded countertops and bar stools for eat-in kitchens.
Do you offer roommate matching?
Yes! If you are interested in roommate matching well have you fill out a form so we can get to know you better. Then we compare your forms with other future residents to find the best match for you!
What is included in the rent?
Base rent includes major kitchen appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove) a washer/dryer, cable and internet! Utilities and furniture are separate, optional packages.
How do utilities work?
Utilities are a great deal at Brookside! Instead of the usual cap & overage system where you're bound to get a bill every month, we've set up a plan based on averages. Each month we take the average of all the same unit styles and compare their utility usage. We won't send you a bill unless you are 120% OVER that average. Also, if you ever go over and its our fault (because of maintenance related problem), well cover it no questions asked.
How to use the Grills in the Courtyards?
On the side of the grill there is a button and a timer. The button controls the propane and the timer controls how long the propane is on. To start the grill, set the timer to how long you will be cooking your food. Then pull the button. Next, open the top of the grill and use the controls on the front to start the flames.
Can someone come and change my lightbulbs?
Sure we can. Just let us know what lighbulbs are currently out. We ask only because we change certain lightbulbs. We will gladly change light bulbs that are covered and/or unreachable. This includes fluorescent lights in the kitchen and covered globes in all the hallways. We do not change bathroom bulbs, pendant bulbs that hang over the bars, and candelabra bulbs which can be found in living room and bedroom fixtures.

The leasing offices are open Monday Friday 9am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm
Where can my friends park when they come visit?
If your friends are not walking from MUs campus, they will need to utilize street parking (metered during the day) as on-site parking is exclusively for Brookside residents with permits.
What are the pool hours?
All Brookside Pools are open 9am-10pm *Seasonal Hours
Can I break my lease?
Lease: is a legal contract in which you are committing to an apartment or Townhome designated for you and your roommates by Brookside for a set period of time.
To break a lease with Brookside you need to find someone (to fulfill your obligation and move into your apartment) to take over your lease similar to finding a sublessor. Once you find someone theres some paperwork to fill out and a $250 fee but then youre off the hook.
What is ok to hang on the walls?
TV mounts are NOT allowed, general adhesives do more damage than they are worth. You may utilize tacks, nails, screws to hang anything you please to make this place your home! Rule of thumb: Keep the holes smaller than a dime.
What do I need to bring to my new apartment?
Bedroom/bathroom: linens, towels, toiletries, shower curtain (we provide the rod!), organizational items, bath mat, curtains if you want them.
Living room/Kitchen: rug, pots & pans, silverware, plates, cups, cleaning supplies, toaster.
